Edward Lee Lucas, 81, of High Plains, died Monday, Jan. 9, 2012, at Medco in
Hardinsburg, Ky. He was born Aug. 22, 1930, to the late Charles and Eva Board Lucas, Sr. He was a member of the High Plains United Methodist Church. He was a logger and a farmer; he was also a Kentucky Colonel. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Haynes Lucas; a brother Harold Lucas; a sister Louise Milburn; a son-in-law Vic Caster; and a granddaughter, Brittany Lucas. |
Survivors include his children, Joetta (Paul) Lucas of Big Spring, Ky., Wayde (Joyce) Lucas of Big Spring, Ky., Gail (Jerry) Critchelow of Hartford, Ky., Darlene (Bill) Hayden of Elizabethtown, Ky.; brothers and sisters, Julius "Doe" (Jequetta) Lucas, Walter "Chuck" Lucas, Charles (Janice) Lucas, Jr., Kenny (Shirley) Lucas, Jackie (Lorene) Lucas, Cora Belle Lucas, RaWanda UTennie" (L.D.) Haynes, Frances "Frankie" Foster, Mona (Delmar) Gross, Lois (Wayne) Phelps; grandchildren, Ricky (Tracy) Caster, Lanore (Troy) Jones, Jennifer (Tommy) Hail, Kimberly (Ted) Leonhart, Nicki Lucas, Brad (Melanie) Critchelow, Amanda (David) Howard, Callie Jo Critchelow; greatgrandchildren, Hunter and Allie Jones, Tristan and Bailey Caster, Lucas and Eli Hail, Macy Critchefow, Jazlynn Daisy Howard, Kara and Elise Leonhart.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, at 2 p.m. at High Plains United Methodist Church. Burial followed in High Plains Cemetery.
Visitation was held from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012, at Alexander Funeral Home.
