Joseph M. Wright, 91, Elizabethtown,died April 9, 2011, at Hardin Memorial Hospital.

He was a native of Hardin County, a World War II Army veteran and a member of Severns Valley Baptist Church, where he was a former member of the senior choir. He retired from Fort Knox Civil Service after 33 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Aleene Morehead Wright; his parents, Joseph H. and Effie R. Hughes Wright; a daughter, Rachael Ione Wright; two brothers, Robert H. Wright and Arvin H. Wright; and five sisters, Bessie L. Hunt, Eva Mae Dowell, Nettie R. Young Shellie Watts and Clara F. Priest.

Mr. Wright is survived by a daughter, Linda (Richard) Johnson, Bowing Green; two sons, David Pete (Pat) Wright, Sellersburg, Ind., and Machael Wright, Brandenburg; six grandchildren; and nine great - grandchildren .

Funeral services were held April 12 at Mount Zion Baptist Church, 350 Mount Zion Church Road in Elizabethtown, with the Rev. Don Flannigan officiating. Burial was in Hardin Memorial Park.

Arrangements were handled by the Brown Funeral Home.
