Ann Phillips McCehee Lamkin, 97, Elizabethtown, died Feb. 11, 2012, at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville. She was born Oct. 20, 1914.

She was a native of Meade County and a member of Broadway Baptist Church in Louisville. Having attended Western Kentucky University, she taught in several one-room schoolhouses in Meade County in the 1930's, teaching all eight grades and often riding to school on horseback. Later she taught 4th grade at Brandenburg Elementary School. Following her marriage in 1944, she served alongside her husband as a faithful pastor's wife in several churches in Kentucky and Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, the Rev. Adrain Lamkin; her parents, Eugene Charles "Boss" and Virginia May Roberts McGehee; four brothers, Daniel Christopher, Maury, John H. and Davis McGehee; and two sisters, Mildred Forbes and Martha Nell Chism.

Mrs. Lamkin is survived by a son, Dr. Adrain (Dana) Lamkin Jr., Champaign, Ill.; a daughter, Middy Ann (the Rev. Mark) Judd, Elizabethtown; three grandchildren, Brian L. Judd, Sarah L. Lamkin and Elizabeth A. Lamkin; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Feb. 18, at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Brandenburg, with the Rev. Mark Judd of ficiating. Burial will be in Ekron Baptist Church Cemetery in Ekron.

Friends and family may call at the Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown Feb. 17, from 4-8 p.m.
