Moses V. "John".Cain, 79, Brandenburg, died Jan. 31, 2011, at Norton Hospital in Louisville.

He was retired from Otter Creek Park with 37 years service, was a lifetime member of Meade County Volunteer Fire Department, a member of Harrison Lodge #122 F.&A.M., a former deacon and Sunday school superintendent of Rock Haven Baptist Church and an avid piano player.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Moses and Eva Mae Ellis Cain; a sister, Louella Benham; and a brother, Thomas Cain.

Mr. Cain is survived by his wife, Anna Frances Wheatley Cain; five children, Cynthia Minks, Greg (Amanda) Cain, Carol Luckett and Connie (Bruce) Fackler, all of Brandenburg, and John S. ( Teri) Cain, Dugger, Ind.; a sister, Earlene Peckham, Jacksonville, Fla.; two brothers, Leo Cain, West Point, and Bob Cain, Louisville; 11 grandchildren, Lucinda Minks, Angela Carter, Brandi Cain, Kristen Adams, Daniel Cain, Mark Cain, Melissa Cain, Dustin Cain, Calvin Fackler, Taylor Cain and Destiny Luckett; 11 great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Feb. 4, from the Rock Haven Baptist Church. Burial was in Buck Grove Cemetery.

Arrangements were handled by the Hager Funeral home.
