thereunto belonging unto him the said William Stith his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of  him the said William his heirs and assigns forever and the Said Thomas Lewis doth hereby covenant and agree the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtinances to the said William Stith his heirs and assigns to warrant & forever defend against all persons claiming or to claim by from or under him the Said Thomas Lewis or by from or under the Said John Blanton but against none others.  In witness whereof  the Said Thomas Lewis hath here unto Set his hand and affixed his seal the day and date first within written.

This Indenture made the twenty eighth day of January in the year one thousand eight hundred and eleven between Thomas Lewis of the town of Petersburg & state of Virginia (but now in the State of Kentucky) of the one part and Richard Stith of the County of Hardin and last mentioned state of the other part Witnesseth that the said Thomas Lewis for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar to him in hand paid by the said Richard Stith at or before the unsealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold aliened enfee offed and confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain & sell alien enfee off & confirm to him the said Richard Stith and his heirs forever a certain tract or parcel of land situate in the said County of Hardin & State of Kentucky in the barrens and bounds as follows towit Beginning at a white oak in Hardin line of a survey of 2000 acres pattented to May Banister & Co thence running North 20 West 170 poles to a Stake thence North forty West 144 poles to two black Jacks & a white oak thence South 44 West 94 poles

to two white Oaks and Jack oak thence South 31 1/2 West 360 poles to a black Oak thence East 76 poles to a white oak thence North 40 East 58 poles to Hardins line thence West 20 poles to Hardin’s corner thence East with his line to the Beginning containing four hundred and thirty acres lie the same more or less upon which tract or parcel of land the said Richard Stith now resides and is a part of a large Survey of 113482 acres patented in the names of Henry Banks and Richard Claibourne by Grant bearing date the 22nd day of December 1785 and which having by regular proceedings come into the hands of a certain John Blanton who on the 26th day of August 1807 sold the above 430 acres to the said Richard Stith but previous to his having made any deed of conveyance therefor the whole tract of 113482 was executed as his property by the Sheriff of Hardin County & regularly sold to the above named Thomas Lewis as will at large appear by the sheriff’s deed to the said Thomas dates the 8th day of September 1810 and recorded in the clerks office for the said county Court of Hardin. To have and to hold the said four hundred and thirty acres of land contained within the bounds herein particularly set forth be the same more or less with all and singular the appurtinances there unto belonging unto him the said Richard Stith the only proper use and behoof of him the said Richard Stith his heirs and assigns forever and the said Thomas Lewis doth hereby covenant and agree to and with the said Richard Stith the only proper use and behoove of him the said Thomas Lewis doth hereby covenant and agree to and with the said Richard Stith that he the said Thomas Lewis his heirs & the said four hundred and thirty acres of land and promises to the said Richard Stith his heirs and assigns will warrant and forever defend against all persons claiming or to claim by from or under him the said Thomas Lewis or by from or under him the said John Blanton.  In witness whereof the said Thomas Lewis hath hereto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and date first within written.
