Copied 16 Dec 00 from margin of "Early Times in Meade County Kentucky":   Comments from Ruth Fontaine Scott to Minnie Alice Bondurant Scott.

"Griffin Hardaway's mother was Betsy Stith daughter of Joseph Stith.
Had 12 children - one child Cinderella married Griffin Hardaway son of
Buckner - then Daniel Stith - their child Mary E. Hardaway, married A. R.
Morris - their children Mrs. Vitula Meador and Mrs Lillie Scott."

I believe this was on page 26 of "Early Times"?

Here is what I can figure out:

I Richard Stith, Sr. m Lucy Cocke Hall
II Joseph Stith m. Nancy Cocke
III Elizabeth (Betsy) Buckner Stith m Richard Buckner Hardaway
IV Griffin Hardaway m Cinderella Dowell
                Cinderella m. 2nd Daniel J. Stith
(Daniel son of Richard, son of Thomas,
                son of Richard Stith, Sr.)
V Mary (Molly) E. Hardaway m. A. R. Morris
VI Vitula Morris m. Meador
Lillie Mae Morris m. Alex Scott
VII Mabel Scott, Maude Scott, Mary E. Scott

Some of the added details are from Kenneth Stith. Note lots of Buckners in the middle names. Notice all the Cockes. Kenneth shows Cinderella as a Dowell. Also I see in some of Aunt Harriet's work that Cinderella was a Dowell. I don't see anything about Cinderella in Aunt Harriet's work except the name. Nothing about parents.

What do you think Ma means by "had 12 children - one child Cinderella...."?

Who do you think were Cinderella's parents? Was she one of 12 children?
