Mrs. Fletcher Scott Dies Suddenly, Funeral Services at Methodist Church

Mrs. Maytie B. Jones Scott, age 55, passed away suddenly at her residence, Ekron, Route 1. Friday evening, March 21st, 1953 at 7:35 plm.

Mr. and Mrs. Scott had just that day moved to their newly built home on new Highway 60, and many of their friends and neighbors were calling on them.

She is survived by her husband Fletcher N. Scott; one daughter, Mrs. Doretha Foster, Parkton, Md.; also survived by three grand children, Barry, Brian and Richard Foster; four sisters, Mrs Lillian Stivers, Mrs. Minnie Luten, Mrs. Ella V. Hinton, Mrs. Anna Hunt; two brothers, Frank Wesley and J. B. Jones.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. W. W. Slider at 2:00 plml, Monday, March 23rd at Brandenburg Methodist Church. Interment Cap Anderson Cemetery, incharge of Wright Funeral Home.

Pall bearers were: Russell Stivers, Homor Ridenour, John Scott Witt, Walter Scott, Edwin Foote, and Stanley Haberlin.

Honary pall bearers were: E. O. Hughes, John Williams, Sr., I. R. Hicks, C. C. Hardaway, Sig Shacklette, and Roy Payne.
