Frances Fast found John Shekerlie's will in Maryland Calendar of Wills, probated 28 April 1718 and the signature read Shakley.

He left to sons Edward, Michael and Francis 12 pence each. To son Benjamin one half of personal estate and should he live to be eighteen or have issue he is to have dwelling, plantation 100 acres called "Jugothorp." Should son Benjamin die before eighteen, or have no issue, said plantation is to pass on wife's decease, to son Francis.

To daughters, named above, he left 12 pence each.  "Mary, my wife, to be executrix and she is to have use of personal estate and dwelling and plantation "jugothorp" during life and she is to have labor of son, Francis, until next Christmas.

Another will showed Michael Shacklett, Charles Co., Maryland left to daughter Tabitha entire estate, probated April 6, 1728.

A deed in the records of Charles City Co., Maryland dated 10 April 1734 was found in which Benjamin Shakerlett, planter, of Charles City, and his wife Sarah deeded to John Winter the plantation called "jugothorp" located on the east side of the main "fresh" of Pointer Creek.

At that time he must have moved to Westmoreland Co., Penns.

Apparently the widow "Mary" mentioned in John Shekerlie's will was his second wife and mother of Benjamin, a minor when will was probated.
